India breaks record, becomes first ever team to score 600+ in three consecutive tests

The number one team in test cricket right now, Team India, has added another feather to its cap. It has become the first ever team to score 600 plus runs in three consecutive test matches.

This happened on Day 2 of the India vs Bangladesh one off test match being played in Hyderabad. Captain Virat Kohli’s double century and opener Murali Vijay’s century were instrumental in getting India a 600 plus score, only for a loss of 6 wickets.

Ajinkya Rahane also proved effective in the middle order scoring 82 runs. At the beginning, Cheteshwar Pujara also assisted Vijay with an 83. Wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha’s century also helped post to this huge total.

The first time the team scored 600 plus was in Mumbai during the fourth test of the recently concluded test series against England. India scored 631 runs, courtesy Kohli’s career-best test score of 235. Jayant Yadav and Murali Vijay also helped post this total.

The second instance came when Karun Nair scored a triple century in the last test of that series. KL Rahul also scored big, getting out at 199. India posted a mammoth total of 759 for 7 beating England in the series.

This is indeed a proud moment for us when 5 out of the top 6 batsmen have scored more than 80 in a test innings. This proves that India is indeed the best batting side.
