Sachin Tendulkar has warned the Indian cricket team not to underestimate Australia in the upcoming test series starting from 23rd February. Australia had lost the test series to South Africa by 1-2 before whitewashing Pakistan 3-0 in the recently concluded test series.
India will start as favourites in the four match test series against Australia. They defeated New Zealand and England with a lot of ease. The Indian team played with lots of aggression in the last 2 test series. Australia lost 0-4 when they toured India in 2012. Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, India has not lost a test series at home and would look to continue their form in the upcoming series.
“The last thing one would like to do is underestimate your opposition and Australia is a strong side. Yes, to play in Indian conditions it would be difficult and Australian players have also acknowledged that, which is a compliment to the Indian team, the way they are playing but you cannot take things for granted,” Tendulkar said.
“I have no doubt that our team will prepare to their best of the ability and deliver when it matters. Australian is going to be tough to handle and that’s how it has always been. But I think I am confident of Indian team” he added.
India is currently the number 1 ranked team in the world. The Indian team have a balanced side with a top quality batting line up. The pitches in India will be tough and Australia needs to bat well if they have to give a challenge to the Indian team. It promises to be a mouthwatering clash between two top teams.
