After an unsuccessful inaugural season in the IPL 2016, Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) will now be looking forward to the players’ auction on 20th February.
Starting well last year, the team defeated defending champions Mumbai Indians, but couldn’t keep up the pace and won only four matches thereafter. The problem was not with the squad considering the fact that it had three captains of their respective national teams – MS Dhoni, Faf Du Plessis and Steven Smith. Other experienced players like Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kevin Pietersen, Ishant Sharma and Mitchell Marsh only added to the team’s power.
However, this didn’t help the team and they ended up on the losing side. This year, with only 4 days left for the auction, we look at two players who could be valuable additions to the team.
