During the eighth over of the 2nd T20I between India and England, the LED of the bail on the wicketkeeper’s end was not working when made contact with. This was noticed by former Indian skipper MS Dhoni, who then informed the umpire. This called for a replacement so as to ensure fair play. It brought the match to a halt for 5 minutes.
This might be the first time in cricketing history that a bail was replaced during the match. India ultimately went on to win the match because of Jasprit Bumrah’s exceptional bowling in the final over and the series is now 1-1. The final match will be played tomorrow in Bengaluru.
