Bengal Cricket team kicked off their proceedings in the invitational KSCA tournament. Playing against KSCA Colts, they put up a solid performance on Day 1. The team is led by Sudip Chatterjee who is also the opener for the team. At the end of the day, Bengal posted 305 for the loss of 4 wickets. Two of their batsmen reached triple figures.
Captain Sudip Chatterjee reached triple figures and was unbeaten on 110. The other batsman who reached century was Purab Joshi. Purab played a wonderful inning of 122 runs. Furthermore, the duo combined for the solid partnership of 219 runs for the third wicket, keeping Bengal in the driving seat. However, the team is not happy about the umpiring decisions. Particularly the wrong LBW decision against Abhimanyu Easwaran. According to the team members, the ball was heading to the fifth stump.
Sudip Chatterjee – A happy captain
Captain and century Sudip Chatterjee was happy after starting the season on a high. “We have played really well today and tomorrow the team needs to do the same as we have to put more runs on the board tomorrow.” said Sudip.
Sudip’s aim is to score as many runs as possible before leaving for the India A tour. “This century will give me a lot of confidence for the upcoming matches. I am trying to score as many runs that I get before leaving for the India A tour,” continued Sudip.
Sudip is still in the waiting line to meet legendary Rahul Dravid. Dravid is the India A coach. On getting tips from Dravid, Sudip said he will welcome every sort of tip from the Legend.
” After watching my batting if he gives me any tips I will definitely listen to it,” added Sudip.
He was also thankful to former India batsman VVS Laxman for helping him in his batting. “He shared his thoughts with me regarding the wickets of South Africa as you know that there will be a lot of bounce on the pitch and his suggestions mean a lot to me,” concluded Sudip.
