With BCCI selectors making it clear that fitness is to be one of the protagonists for selecting the team in further matches, questions raised on Dhoni‘s presence. The chief selector MSK Prasad said that if Dhoni fails to perform then they will have to look for further better options for the team. Sanjay Manjrekar has his say on this matter.
But after the second ODI, the selectors must have given a thought that what would have happened if Shoni didn’t take over after India lost wickets in quick succession. Bhuvneshwar, no doubt is capable of providing help with the bat, but he himself admitted that having someone as cool headed, calm and experienced as Dhoni, on the other end made it possible for him to play his best. Both registered a record100 wicket partnership for the 8th wicket with Dhoni remaining not out in 120 innings played.
No questions now can be raised till the former Indian captain delivers his best. No doubt Dhoni with his gloves behind the wicket is also a trump card for the team. He now equals the record of 99 stumpings with Kumar Sangakarra in ODIs, one more wicket away from a history.
As fans took no time to pour in applauds for the quickfire innings, Sanjay Manjrekar took to twitter to share his views.
“Dhoni’s future should not be decided by his past. If he is the best keeper batsman in the country, he deserves to be in the team.” he posted.

Though Dhoni has gone through a rough patch in his career but not to mentions the lights of his achievements devour all the darkness. A loophole in the past must not judge a sportsman and especially when he is the man named ‘Dhoni‘. But Dhoni will have to deliver his best and be consistent to be a part of the team in 2019 World Cup.
