It was October 4th 3 years ago today Chennai super kings won their CLT20 title. The official Twitter handle of the returning champions in IPL tweeted about it sharing their feelings and relieving some of the memories.It was the sixth and last edition of IPL in which Chennai super kings emerged as champions.
The final was played between botIndianan derbies Chennai super kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in which Chennai won. The teams have always enjoyed stiff competition whenever they locked horns and with this being the pinnacle of all the T20 leagues, it ended up being a thriller as promised.
Kolkata who were put in to bat first had a great start from the captain Gautam Gambhir and then after he fell Kolkata collapsed but Yusuf Pathan strikes at the end ensured a great defend-able total for the riders. KKR ended up registering a total of 180/6 in their quota of 20 overs. For CSK, Pawan Negi had stupendous figures of 5/22.
Chennai to didn’t have a great start but ab astonishing century from Suresh Raina ensured that they were home easily and the match was finished in style by none other than the skipper ms dhoni.
CSK ended up winning their second Champions League title and fourth title overall, having won the IPL twice.
Chennai was one of the two teams along with Mumbai Indians to win the now-defunct tournament twice. Mumbai had won in 2011 and later in 2013.
